Year 1 had a fantastic day creating fairy tale biscuits linked to our traditional tales theme. The children created their own three little pigs, a wolf and Red Riding Hood. They did lots of weighing and measuring and learnt how to create dough and decorate their biscuits. They will soon be ready to appear on the The Great British Bake Off!!!
It is so nice to see the Year 5 children working with Year 1 to help them up level and review their story writing. Such great TEAMWORK!!! 🙂 🙂

Yesterday Year 1 had a visit from one of the children’s beloved pets. Rar Rar the tortoise came to say hello and brightened up Year 1’s afternoon.
Manchester is the European City of Science for 2016 and lots of events have been taking place across the city. Today, 6th July, is the ‘Great Science Share’, when schools across the region will be tweeting and blogging about the some of the Science activities happening in their schools. In Year 1 we have planted cress and pea seeds. Each day we will be keeping track of how much our seeds will grow. We are all very excited!
Year 1 had a wonderful time on World Book Day. The children all dressed as their favourite book characters.
Year 1 and Year 5 have been spending time with each other reading lots of books. The children have had a wonderful time!
